Client:Â ScaleFunder is a leading subscription-based digital fundraising platform designed to empower academic institutions to raise funds through crowdfunding. By providing custom-branded crowdfunding websites, ScaleFunder enables constituents to discover, share, and donate to projects that align with their values and interests.
Challenge:Â ScaleFunder offers two core products: Crowdfunding and Giving Day. With an ambitious product roadmap and limited engineering resources, ScaleFunder faced challenges in maintaining high-quality standards while rapidly scaling and introducing new features. To address these challenges, ScaleFunder partnered with SSI to outsource Quality Assurance (QA) and testing for its products.
The SSI team worked closely with ScaleFunder’s engineering and product management teams to design, execute, and validate comprehensive test scenarios based on new functionality. SSI was tasked not only with performing all testing but also with establishing robust, scalable processes to enhance coordination and communication between the various stakeholders involved in the product lifecycle—ranging from planning and development to testing and release.
Solution: SSI introduced a customized, highly efficient testing process aligned with ScaleFunder’s agile sprint cycles. The team crafted detailed test scripts and use cases, ensuring that all new features were rigorously tested. Throughout the testing process, SSI maintained close communication with the engineering and product teams, logging and tracking issues, providing actionable feedback, and offering recommendations to improve the application’s overall quality.
In addition to functional testing, SSI conducted thorough regression testing to ensure that existing features continued to perform as expected and that no new issues were introduced with each software update.
Result: As a result of SSI’s partnership, ScaleFunder was able to optimize its engineering resources, allowing focus on executing the product roadmap. The introduction of a structured testing process, along with comprehensive documentation, led to significant improvements in the quality of product releases. This, in turn, enhanced the overall user experience and contributed to higher client retention, with faster release cycles and fewer bugs.
