Challenge: GBO Datacomp’s legacy application, MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is a comprehensive production management system. There are three conventional software solutions provided by MES application:
- BDE – Production Data Recording
- MDE – Machine Data Recording
- PZE – Employee Time Recording
These software solutions were initially built with technologies such as Delphi and Pervasic due to which GBO Datacomp’s clients faced certain limitations like hardware synchronization issues, lagging and errors in system updating. GBO Datacomp was looking for a development partner that could rewrite the platform for improved customer experience, and cutting edge functionalities, without jeopardizing the core logic of its products.
Solution: SSI teamed up with GBO Datacomp to upgrade their three legacy products using latest technologies like WPF, MS SQL,and N-hibernateetc. Engineers at SSI reconditioned PZE, BDE and MDE solutions according to customer requirements and by reverse engineering. Other than reconstructing the back-end of the application to improve functionality, efficiency and friendliness, SSI also provided their expertise in revamping the user interface of MES. Designers did a complete makeover of the system; from creating new style guidelines to developing an improved visual language across the platform.
Result: With SSI’s partnership, GBO Datacomp now has a satisfied returning customer base that benefits from an improved experience and more advanced features.
