Challenge: The client engaged Strategic Systems International (SSI) to replace tedious manual processes with an innovative web application. The web application will transform manual work on hand-made drawings and files into digital solutions, including maps and rules-based guidance to end customers for the best utilization of habitats and ensuring adherence to ecological guidelines.
Solution: The engineering team developed a scalable web application providing an easy way for end users to enter the land details and calculate the final gain in biodiversity. The solution offers a variety of options, enabling users to achieve a remarkable 110% increase in biodiversity compared to the original state.
Result: SSI’s team delivered the Minimum Viable Product (MVP); the client hasn’t made it commercial yet, but once commercialized, the end-user will be charged for each report generation. The client aims to integrate this platform as the standard process, backed by the full support of the UK government for preparing the BGP required before construction permission is granted.
