Resilient Wellness

Client: Resilient Wellness is an innovative tech startup dedicated to advancing public health equity through a technology-driven platform. By integrating system change frameworks, the platform allows healthcare providers to list their services, while partnering with insurance companies to enable patients to directly select providers based on their needs. The goal is to improve access to care, streamline the process, and empower communities with better health outcomes.

Challenge: The founders at Resilient Wellness approached SSI with a vision to build a Blockchain-based platform for public health equity –  a centralized platform that will bring healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to work seamlessly together to empower community-building and enablement for collective health and sustainability.

With over three decades of experience delivering healthcare and wellness solutions, SSI’s team of architects, business analysts, and support specialists had the expertise needed to turn this vision into a functional digital product. The challenge was not only in building a platform to connect diverse stakeholders but in incorporating the transparency, security, and trust essential for sensitive healthcare data management.

Solution: Engineers at SSI developed the platform’s backend services, guiding it through every phase from design to implementation. A key feature of the platform is the use of Smart Contracts, which were embedded into the system as a transparent and trustable mechanism for Social Impact Bonds (SIBs). These smart contracts allow all stakeholders to track critical data such as medical documents, payments, and health outcomes for patients, ensuring accountability and fostering trust.

Additionally, the SIB framework introduced a token system that facilitates cash payouts to all participants, promoting timely and efficient disbursements. This financial model ensures that everyone involved in the care process—from healthcare providers to insurance companies—benefits from the successful outcomes of their collective efforts.

SSI integrated several third-party services to enhance the platform’s functionality, including:

• Twilio for communication (phone, SMS)
• Recurly for seamless payment processing
• SendGrid for email management

The platform is built around a set of APIs that efficiently track various information related to patients, healthcare providers, documents, payments, and communication.

Result: SSI successfully delivered a robust backend solution for Resilient Wellness, enabling the startup to launch a platform that brings together healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients in a unified system.
